District Award of Merit. The District Award of Merit is a council award presented by districts in the same manner that the Silver Beaver is a national award presented by councils. The award is available to Scouters who render service of an outstanding nature at the district level. It is not appropriate to nominate a Scouter who has already. The Merit Badge Day is an opportunity for Scouts in troops, crews or ships to work on requirements on merit badges with career professionals. The merit badges are not give away merit badges but are selected for Scouts to not only earn a merit badge but learn from career professionals so that they can explore potential career opportunities.
The museum is offering merit badge classes ( Signs, Signals and Codes , Railroading, First Aid, and Citizenship in the World ). The cost is $40 per Scout and includes parent admission to the museum. Presentations are scheduled on select Saturdays during the school year from 10 am to 1 pm (except First Aid is from 10 am to 2 pm).
